Ski Day 3: Exhaustion. Ski Brule, the U.P. of Michigan

Read all about day 2 of our 2010 Midwest ski trip.

Exhaustion has officially set in.  The past two days of intense skiing, almost a thousand miles of driving, and very little sleep have begun to take their toll.  We had a late start today, and only skied for several hours before heading to Bohemia.  This was mostly due to sheer exhaustion, but partly due to the lack of anything resembling challenging terrain at Ski Brule.

The marketers at Ski Brule advertise it as one of the best family ski resorts in the Midwest.  This title may be well deserved, but in the eyes of two young guns looking for some challenging terrain to shred, Ski Brule was simply pathetic.  The one run rated a double black diamond may have been a Rock Mountain blue at best.  There were about a dozen jumps in the terrain park, but all of the transitions were flat and rutted out.

Simple pleasure of the day: getting to ski a run named "Timberdoodle." Only at Ski Brule can you get that opportunity.
