New Downhill Course for the Sea Otter Classic

Day 2 of construction

Sea Otter announced a few months ago that they were going to revamp the downhill course for 2011 in an effort to turn it into a much more legitimate challenge. Construction of the new course is finally underway! Hopefully these much-needed changes will eliminate many of the disparaging comments aimed at its lack of difficulty.

Last night, the organizers posted a number of pictures to the Sea Otter Classic Facebook Page of the transformation. After looking at some of these, I wish I was racing the DH! However, I personally have plenty of other things on my to-do list for the Otter this year.

Check out some photos of this sweet course in the making:

Even though you aren't racing, I hope you get a chance to hit the course??

IDK If I'll get to run the course or not. If I remember correctly, last year because of all the people racing and practicing, you were only allowed to ride it for practice and race runs.

Looks like a sick setup - Hopefully they'll let some people do trials on it.
